Library

The Collaboration and Inquiry Center develops students’ information literacy, provides resources to enrich and support the curriculum, and promotes pleasure reading.  We continually look to offer resources that appeal to a variety of interests and reading levels, as well as services that fully support student learning.
We are open every school day, before and after school, as well as during breaks and lunch.
Be it pre-school students enjoying fun characters in their favorite new books or high school AP/IB students conducting research through online databases, the CIC has something for everybody…so stop on in!
If you have questions pertaining about our Knowledge Center, you can also email us at:  librarian@aisch.org

AISC Collaboration and Inquiry Center Mission
We collaborate with and empower students and staff to transform curiosity, creativity, and compassion into ideas or artifacts with personal, social, or global significance.

CIC Library Books
We maintain a total collection of over 55,000 books, and get hundreds of new books each year!  Our extensive collection of fiction, non-fiction, reference, and professional development books includes both hard-copy print and digital resources.  Books in every reading level and genre are available.
To support a love of reading in any language, we also carry books in different languages, such as French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

We carry over 4,000 eBooks, including fiction and nonfiction.  These can be read at school or at home, using school or personal devices.  Please see any of our library staff for assistance to get started.

Other CIC Library Resources
The CIC Libraries are a virtual learning environment.  You can access information 24/7 by visiting our website:cic.aisch.org There you will find great information on research, tech tools, and more!
Students also have 24-hour access to Destiny, our library catalogue.  Destiny provides students with information about the resources we carry, including summaries, reading levels, and book availability.  To visit our catalog, please go to: https://aisc.follettdestiny.com
The CIC Libraries subscribe to a variety of online databases and resources.  These are login/password protected. Please visit the “Online Subscriptions” link in Moodle under “Technology Resources” for login information.  These include a variety of research and creation tools.  We also subscribe to many magazines, journals, and newspapers for recreation and research.
We also have a large collection of professional development journals and books for staff development needs. These books are located in the staff literacy library (next to the ES/MS CIC).  There, you will also find an extensive book room collection with guided reading sets, mentor texts, and themed book sets.  Please note that the materials in this room are for staff check-out only.
Each CIC Library has computers that patrons can use for research-related activities.  Both black-and-white and color printing is available for school use.

CIC Library Services
The CIC library staff is available to offer students, parents, and teachers a wide range of services.  We can recommend books and other resources for pleasure reading, research, and general inquiry.
The CIC runs orientations throughout the year on how to make the most of our center and the resources we offer. We provide library patrons assistance in locating materials, using online databases effectively, and much more.  If you need any assistance, please make sure to ask any of our library staff.
We sponsor many activities throughout the year, including author visits, book clubs, and special reading-related events such as Book Week.  In association with Scholastic India, we also organize three book fairs a year so that students and parents can buy wonderful books at great prices.

Additional CIC Library Information
Please enjoy your food or drink outside the CIC.  Food and drink can damage our books, carpets, and computers.  Thank you!

We welcome parents to our center.  Please remember, however, that the CIC is a teaching area (just like a classroom) and we often have classes going on during the school day.  This means that materials, computers, and certain areas of our center may not always be available for parent use.
