Events of the year: A Nutshell

STAFF ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:

Staying updated is the key to success especially in the field of education. Our Staff attended various workshops organized by CBSE. One day interactive Session on “Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation” for teachers was conducted in our school premises on 26th May. Teacher Empowerment Session on the topic ‘Personality Development & Stress Management' was conducted on 27thMay by PrajapitaBhramakumarisIswaryaViswaVidhyalaya.

Faculties of Department of Science attended a workshop at Sri ShankaraVidhyalaya, Karur on June 11. Faculties of various department attended workshop on CCE conducted by KSSC on June 25.Faculties of English department attended Language enrichment program organized by Karadi path and Orient Blackswan.

STUDENTS’ ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:

One day session on basic circuit designing relevant to the field of Informatics and Robotics has been conducted by Science Wissen Foundation.

 

SCHOOL CELEBRATIONS:

World Environment day was celebrated on June 4 with various competitions such as elocution, drawing, etc and prizes were distributed.

Investiture Ceremony for the academic year was conducted on 21stJune to inculcate the role of leadership in our students .Students were segregated into four groups on house names such asAdventurous Amazon, Meritorious Mississippi, Noble Nile and Trendy Thames –Thiru.M.Subramaniam, Vice President , Thiru. A.Balasubramanian,Secretary, TNPL School Society, presided over the function in the presence of Thiru M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School. On the same day World yoga day was also celebrated.

ENGLISH LITERARY ASSOCIATION was inaugurated on July 18. Thiru.M.Ganapathi, Correspondent, PGP institutions, was the chief guest of the day. Programmes such as Kids dance, speech, drama, and songs were performed with great pomp and show. The Literary week ended with valediction on July 23.

TAMIL LITERARY ASSOCIATION was inaugurated on 22ndAugust. Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided over the function,Mr.RasappaPeriyasamy, Rtd. Prof. Arasu Arts College, Karur, was the Chief Guest of the day. Programmes such as kavidhai, katturai, naadagam were performed in an enjoyable manner during the week. Valediction was performed on August 26.

MATH WEEK was inaugurated on October 17 by our honourable Correspondent. Programmes like Model display, skit, number games, puzzles, dance about numbers, stress free management were performed during the week in a fabulous way. Honesty shop was also introduced as a maiden effort and it was inaugurated by our beloved correspondent sir.Dr.C.Srinivasan was the chief guest for Valediction on October 21.

SCIENCE & COMPUTER SCIENCE WEEK was inaugurated on October 31. Experiments, Model displays, dance, Skits, Puzzles and Games were performed in a tremendous way.Dr.C.Rajalakshmi,Medical Officer, TNPL was the guest of the day. Valediction was performed on November 4 .We had Mr.Karmegam, DGM (IT), and TNPL as the chief guest.

SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK was inaugurated on November 28 by our honourable Chief guest Mr.AnboliKaliappan, Ex,President, Karur rotary Club in the august presence of our honourable correspondent. Valediction held on December 12. A special session conducted by ISKON about enlightenment of life was the highlight of the day.

THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS- Diwali was celebrated on October 27 with cultural programmes.

INTRA SCHOOL SPORTS MEET "Khel Mela 2016" held with high prospect on December 22 at TNPL stadium. Mr.Perumal, Secretary,Karur district Athletic Association was the chief guest of the day. Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President, TNPL School Society, presided over the function in the presence Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary, Thiru.D.Krishnakumar, Treasurer and Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School.

BHOOMI POOJA for the new building in our school premises held on July 15. Thiru.M.Subramaniam, , Vice President, TNPL School Society, Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary, TNPL School Society, Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, Thiru.D.Krishnakumar, Treasurer, TNPL School Society consecrated with their benign presence.

TEACHER’S DAY: was celebrated in a wonderful manner on Sep 7. Students organized games for teachers and prizes were distributed.

CHILDREN’S DAY: was celebrated with inter house Dance competition, Speech, etc with great enjoyment.

NATIONAL CELEBRATION:

70th INDEPENDENCE DAY was celebrated at TNPL Stadium with aims at creating responsible citizens for the nation. Thiru.M.Subramaniam,Vice President, TNPL School Society, Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary TNPL School Society,Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, School Committee members, guests, parents and teachers witnessed the awe inspiring function.

68th REPUBLIC DAY was celebrated in TNPL Stadium. Thiru. A.Balasubramanian, Secretary, TNPL School Society was the chief guest in the presence of Thiru. M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School.

NATIONAL SAFETY DAY: National Safety day was celebrated on March 04, 2017 to commemorate all kinds of safety in our society. Competition were conducted by TNPL Safety Department and prizes ware distributed Thiru..K.Thangasraju G.M. Paper provided over the function along with Thiru..M.Radhakrishnan Senior Manager Safety Department in the august presence of Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, and Principal of TNPL Public School.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: By providing a conducive and encouraging environment our students participated in various intra/inter school activities/competitions.

We participated in Talent Expo 2016 organized by TNPL on 6th and 7thAugust .Totally 28 children participated in various competitions. Our children won the 3rd position bringing home the coveted overall championship of the Talent Expo 2016.

August 27 was a remarkable day.54 students competed in 15 competitions in Rhapsody 2016 conducted by Paavai group of schools in which our children were winners bagging First place in Shipwreck, Shutter box & Tamil debate, Second place in English debate, variety show, Eat O Mania and a third place in choreography winning an overall cash award of Rs.28000.

International Assessment for Indian Schools (IAIS) was conducted by UNSW Global (Australia) on Aug 29 which helped us to analyse the application skills of our little superstars.

M.Laavanya of Grade 8 won first place in Hindi Elocution competition conducted by DhakshinBarath Hindi pracharsabha on September 25. 100 students participated in VISTO Talent search examsconducted by Velammal group of institutions in which 19 students were shortlisted for state level.

Our children participated in Aqua Regia Science quizconducted by TIME institute on November 18 in which S.Gowtham and S.Darun of grade 9 stood first with a cash award of Rs.2000 with a Rolling Trophy at district level, Also M.Subavignesh and S.Santhosh of grade 7 won the first place with a cash award of Rs.1000 in junior category.

S.Gowtham and S.Darunof Grade 9 won the first prize with a cash award of Rs.1000 in THIRAN 2016conducted by M.Kumarasamy college of Engineering.

S.Gowtham, S.Darun under senior category and S.Karthikeyan, A.U.Saisivaram under junior category were selected for finals and attended an Online Quiz on Yoga, holistic health and Swacch Bharat conducted by CBSEon January 24. 28 students participated in all.

Help age India had conducted a district level Essay writing Competitionon the topic "when I will be 64" K.Manoj of VIII- B participated and won the second Prize and cash award Rs.2000.

THE HINDU YOUNG WORLD QUIZ:

The Hindu Newspaper group conducted a Quiz programme on the title “Young World Quiz” for Trichy regional schools on 24.02.17 at BHEL's MD Hall in Trichy. About 256 groups of students participated. On behalf of TNPL Public School 9 groups of students have participated. Among them B.M.Thanvanth, IX-B &R.Sudarsan, VIII-A won the 3rd place in the final round. They were rewarded with Shield and cash prize of Rs.750/- each. They were appreciated in the school.

MASCO OLYMPIAD

Our school students of Grade 9 had appeared for MASCO –The Mathematics and Science Scholarship Eligibility Test (2016-2017)organized by NIVRITHI EDUCATION & SOCIAL TRUST , Karur on 8th January 2017 at SaradaNikethan College for Women Karur.

23 schools have participated with a strength of 737 students. Among the 25 topers selected, seven are our students they proved their excellencey and received prizes on 26th February 2017 at IMA Hall, Karur.

FIRST ANNUAL DAY

  • TNPL Public School celebrated its 1st Annual Day –SAVISHKAR 2017 on January, in the School Quadrangle at 6:00pm. Thiru.A.VELLIANGIRI Deputy Managing Director TNPL presided over the function. The Chief guest of the occasion was Thiru.M.GANAPATHI, I.F.S(Rtd) Correspondent, PGP Educational Institutions, Namakkal.TNPL School society members,Executive committee members, dignitaries, other guests and parents witnessed the program.
  • The foyer was decorated with rangoli and eye-catching installations. A team of students performed Karate & Skating in the reception to welcome the guests.
  • The chief guests were felicitated and they addressed the gathering. The dignitaries graciously gave away the trophies and prizes to the outstanding achievers and meritorious students.
  • The Principal Dr.V.M.Ayyappan expressed happiness that the school was imparting quality education to the students coming from various areas and presented the School Annual Report by highlighting the achievements of the students and also spoke about the year-round activities conducted in the school. A power point presentation was shown along with it.
  • The evening was made more colorful with the cultural events.

The programme began with a prayer song by Choir students. It is followed by a beautiful dance performed by little angels & fairies.

The students of Music Choir rendered an orchestral performance that was a harmonious blend of musical instruments and their mellifluous voices.

The astonishingperformanceof students through a theme song dance on "donating organs", traditional Bhangra with foot-tapping music, passionate western dance and energetic folk dance stole the hearts of the audience.

The literary composition dealing with the title "The Canterville Ghost" in English and "NaveenaThiruvilaiyaadal" in Tamil suitable for comedy with a magnificent performance made the audience enjoy.

The cultural programme ended with a Ganapathy celebration dance with a phenomenal performance.

  • Every student gave their performance with grace and got a big round of applause.
  • The guests lauded the efforts of the Principal, staff and students for taking the school to greater heights and putting up an excellent show. The show was put up with the team effort of around 500 students under the guidance of their Principal and teachers./li>
  • The programme ended at 9:30pm with a vote of thanks and National Anthem.

ANNUAL AWARDS DAY was conducted on January, 21. Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided over the function and distributed the prizes to our young achievers.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

S.Dharsana of grade 8 won a silver medal and K.U.Abhenav of grade 5 won a bronze medal for speed skating organized by Karur district roller skating Association on October 15.

M.Subhiksha of grade 8 won first place in district level chess tournament conducted by AIMS Chess academy.

S.Lakshitha of grade 4 won a cash award of Rs.400 medal and a trophy and G.S.Thareenish of grade 3 won a cash award of Rs.600 medal and a trophy in South India level tennis tournament conducted by ACE Tennis Academy, Karur on December 29 and 30.

E.Surya of grade 5 won 1st Place in Ashihara Karate 5thTamilnadu State level school & open karate championship – 2016 and a certificate of merit in Kai-Khan – 2016 held on 23rd Sunday October 2016.

She scored 5 points out of 8 points in 7th State level open and children chess tournament held on 7th and 8th January 2017 and also Participated in 2ndKarur Fide Rating all India Chess Tournament conducted by District Chess Association and M.Kumarasamy College of Engineering conducted from 25th to 29th December 2016.

NishanthMoorthy of Grade5 won second place in Roller Skating Club Meet 2017 conducted by Rajasekar Skating Academy, held on 21st January 2017 at Kongu Matric Hr.Sec. School, P.Velur.

STUDY TOUR AND FIELD TRIP:

Grades IX students were taken for a field trip to TNPL Horticulture on October 19 to enlighten their vision towards conservation of nature.

Students of grade IX were taken for Industrial visit on November 2 to Information Technology department, TNPL.

Students of grade 1 to 5 were taken a trip to Pugalur railway station as part of study tour.

Students of Grade 6 to 9 had an opportunity to witness the Science Exhibition organized by PGP group of institutions on Jan 11. They acquired a good knowledge on Biogas from integrated farming, Vermi Composting, FM Radio station and Mobile Observatory on Celestial bodies.

P.G.P B.Ed. Student Trainees Visit

A set of Students & Teachers visited our school on March, 07, 2017 to experience a practical teaching learning methodologies.

SOCIAL AWARENESS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Awareness activities involve students to recognize other's feelings and knowing how and when to assist others. As a part of this institution, Students interact club was inaugurated Chief guest of the day was Rotarian. Yasmin Sardar, Rotary club of angels, Karur, Correspondent, National School.

Children were administered with TT and DPT on October 17. Deworming tablets were administered to all the children on Aug 8.Eye screening camp conducted by Velan Eye hospital, Karur.

We gave back to the society for various noble causes, and support for the needy as part of school social responsibility. The Prefectorial board visited Sidhartha Old age home at Chatram. A reasonable amount was donated and food items were distributed. A good amount was given towards Help age India also. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the students and parents for their voluntary contribution for the noble cause.

UNDERSCORE OF THE YEAR:

The 6th Annual Sports meet "SarvaangeenSankalan", a state level CBSE inter school Athletic meet was conducted. It was a prestigious moment to convene the meet at TNPL stadium in the presence of TNPL Management committee, correspondents and principals of KSSC family.

2014 – 15

  • TNPL Public School has completed three fruitful years of its journey since June 2011.
  • At the outset, the School reopened on 15th April for the academic year 2014-15. Weekly quiz program was introduced as a special feature in the assembly.
  • The most important blessing was the inauguration of our new school building held on 17th April. Ganapathi Homam was performed. A Formal Pooja and  Inaugural Function was conducted  Thiru.M.Subramaniam, , Chief General Manager, Production,  Vice President, TNPL School Society,  Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, GM (E&I), Secretary, TNPL School Society,   Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, AGM , (Quality control), Correspondent, TNPL Public School, Thiru.A.Sundaram, AGM, Finance, Treasurer, TNPL School Society,  School Committee members, guests, parents and teachers took part in the function.
  • Teacher Empowerment Session on the topic ‘Personality Development & Stress Management' was conducted on 6thJune by Sister Neelima of Prajapita Bhrama kumaris Iswarya Viswa Vidhyalaya.
  • ‘CHECK YOUR ENGLISH’ was introduced in morning assembly proceedings on 16th June to enhance the vocabulary and pronunciation skills of the students.
  • K.Maathangi Devi of grade 6 participated in state level chess competition conducted by Mahendra Engineering College,Salem on 21st Jun and secured the 16th place.
  • The Hindu Students edition newspaper was started to be circulated in school from 23rd Jun.
  • New House system was introduced on 24th June. House names were announced as follows:  Red Clover, Blue Bonnet, Green Orchid and Yellow Jessamine (rare flowers at the international level).  The Office bearers were selected.
  • K.Hrithik Balaji of grade 4 and I.N.Akshay of grade 4 took part in the District level chess competition conducted by District Chess Association ,Karur on 29th jun and secured 8th and 9th places respectively.
  • Casual lunch break conversation in English was introduced on 30th June for Students of Grades I & II to enrich their confidence in spoken english.
  • Students of Grade III & IV were taken for a field trip on 8th July to TNPL Bio-Technology & Bio-Energy Centre based on environmental studies.
  • Investiture Ceremony for the academic year was conducted on 9th June to inculcate the role of leadership in our students –Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President,  TNPL School   Society, presided over the function in the presence of Thiru M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School. Thirumathi.V.Kavitha, Headmistress, TNPL Public School welcomed the guests. Master S.Gowtham , the head boy thanked the guests.
  • On the same day students of Grades V, VI & VII were taken for a field trip to TNPL Clonal Propagation Centre at Moolimangalam to enlighten their vision towards conservation of nature.
  • Student were engaged in Shraamdan on 19th July (an activity recommended by CBSE that involves campus cleaning, planting saplings & etc) to ensure that the students are equipped with social responsibilities. Our Correspondent planted some saplings in the school campus and initiated ‘Go-Green’ concept.
  • Book Fair was inaugurated on 21st July in the school campus to kindle the thirst of book reading among students and was conducted for 3 days.Students are to be appreciated in this regard for buying and donating book to the library through book fair.
  • Our students participated in the music competition conducted in Naradha Gana Sabha,Karur on 26th July by the Rotary Club,Karur .
  • Music and Dance Classes were introduced on 1st of August to incorporate the appreciation towards fine arts in the young minds.
  • News paper reading in the Lunch Break was introduced on 8th August to update our students' knowledge with current affairs.
  • Independence Day was celebrated at TNPL Stadium with aims at creating responsible citizens for the nation.   • A movie Show 'KUTTI' was screened on 19th August for Students to create awareness towards child labour and child abuse.
  • Tamil Literary Association was inaugurated on 22nd August. Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided the function ,Thiru.A.Sundaram, Treasurer, TNPL School Society welcomed the gathering and  Thiru.M.Paramasivam, Executive Commitee member delivered the observation.Thiru. G.Vadhinadhan,HOD,Tamil Dept., PonVidyaMandir was the chief guest of the day. Programmes such as  kavidhai,katturai,tamilarpanpadu ,tamilkalaigal,naadagam were performed in a pleasant way during the week.

Head Mistress Thirumathi.V.Kavitha delivered the observation.Programmes such as  Kids dance, speech,drama,riddles,gags and song were performed in a remarkable way during the week.
  • Thiru.V.M.Ayyappan joined as the new Principal of TNPLPS on 4th September. He was introduced by the correspondent in the school assembly.
  • Teacher’s day was celebrated in a fine manner. Students organised games for teachers and prizes were distributed.
  • Onam was celebrated on 12th September with lights,flower arrangement and cultural programmes.
  • Parent teacher meeting was conducted on 10th October after the completion of Semester 1 Assessment in the multipurpose hall.Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School presided the gathering .There was an active participation from the parent's side.
  • On the same day, K.Manoj of Grade 6 participated in state level chess competition conducted by Karur Vilayattu Murasu and secured the 14th place and took part in state level chess competition conducted by AimChess Academy and bagged the third place.
  • Math Week was inaugurated on 13rd October by the Principal and Headmistress. Programmes like Model display, skit, number games, puzzles, dance about numbers, stress free management were performed during the week in a fabulous way.
  • The festival of lights -  Diwali was Celebrated on 18th October with cultural programmes and speech.
  • As every year, this year too we gave back to the society for various noble causes, activities as part of school social responsibility. The Prefectorial board visited Sidhartha Mudiyorillam at Chatram on 10th November , distributed food items and shared memorable memories with the old age people.
  • Rithik Kumar of grade 5 had taken part in district level chess tournament conducted by Aim chess Academy on 16 November and won the 5th place.
  • E.Surya of Grade 3 participated in the state level Karate competition conducted by Selvam Memorial Trophy, Salem on 22nd &23rd November and secured the 2nd place
  • Our Students participated in RHAPSODY 2014 organized by Paavai Vidhyashram in various competitions such as Singing, Dance, Painting, Collage and Eatomania and won the first prize in Karoake competition with a cash award of Rs.20000 for which the participants are as follows : M.Nikitha, N.Ameesha Fareen,P.Samhitha of grade 6,M.Subhiksha of grade 6 and R.Shruthikaa of grade 7 and S.Prashanthika of grade 7,A.P.Vinitha and T.Pavithra pushkalai of grade 6 bagged a cash prize of Rs.5000 for collage competition amidst heavy competition of 55 schools.
  • K.Manoj of Grade 6 took part in district level chess competition conducted by Karur Kannamal memorial sports club on 7th December and secured the 8th place.
  • Science & Computer Science Week was inaugurated on 8th December. Experiments, Model displays, Skits, Puzzles and Games were performed in a tremendous way.
  • Christmas was celebrated on 22nd December – A speech was given on the Birth of Infant Jesus, A Christmas Carol and A Dance was performed.
  • Annual Sports Day was conducted with high prospect on 24th December. Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President,  TNPL School   Society, presided over the function in the presence Thiru. M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School.Various activities such as yoga,pyramid,drill, dance,and track events were performed and prizes were distributed.
  • M.Agshaya of grade 7 participated in the state level Tennis match conducted by Perks Tennis Academy,Kovai on 25th & 26th December and grabbed the 2nd place.
  • A session for teachers on the topic ‘Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation’ was arranged on 3rd January and it was conducted by Dr.Ramasubramanian, Senior Principal, Bharani group of Schools .
  • Extra curricular activities raise the child’s self esteem and involve them in diverse interests which lead to a long time commitment. So Chess , Karate and Keyboard classes are initiated as a good start from 6th January.
  • To boost the fine-motor skills development and cognitive exercise Handwriting course was introduced from 5thJanuary.
  • Our students experienced a tough competition and stood at the 143rd place among 350 schools in the Hindu Young world quiz conducted in Sona Engineering College at Salem on 8th January organized by The Hindu Daily.
  • An exhibition is a high-stakes demonstration of mastery that occurs at a culminating academic moment.Annual Exhibition was conducted on 9th January – Students displayed various working and static models pertaining to different subjects. ThiruM.Subramaniam, , Vice President, TNPL School Society,Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, TNPL School Society,   Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, Correspondent, TNPL Public School inaugurated and presided the exhibition. Parents and others visited the exhibition.Thiru.S.Balasubramaniam and Thirumathi.BavaniBai Of Gandhiar Middle school Karur witnessed the programme and judged the models.
  • R.Kamali of grade 6 took part in state level Karate competition conducted by Maharaja College ,Erode on 10thJanuary and bagged the3rd place.
  • Pongal festival was celebrated in a traditional way with religious ethics on 12th January.
  • K.Hrithik Balaji of grade 4 participated in the district level chess competition conducted by district chess association and secured the 9th place and E.Surya of grade 3 took part in state level chess conducted by Navodaya Academy,Namakkal on 16th January and secured the 5th place.
  • S.Ramatithya and R.Sudarsan of grade 6 participated in the district level Team karate and won the 3rd place and S.Shanmaya of grade 4 took part in the district level karate competition conducted on 22nd January and bagged the 2nd place.
  • Republic Day was celebrated in TNPL Stadium.  Thiru. A.Sundaram, Treasurer, TNPL School   Society was the chief guest. Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President, TNPL School   Society,  Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary, TNPL School Society and  Thiru. M. Rathnasami,  Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided over the function.
  • Chief Educational Officer Thirumathi.R.Thiruvalarselvi, Karur District inspected the school on 29th January pertaining to NOC and recognition from the Government of Tamilnadu and we received a very positive feedback from her.
  • M.Subhiksha,K.Maathangi Devi of grade 6 and M.Maanasha of grade 5 from our school represented the first three positions of the Hindu handwriting competition held in Kaveri College, Trichy on 2 Feb conducted by the Hindu Daily.
  • E.Surya of grade 3 participated in the district level chess competition conducted by Aim chess Academy and secured the 8th place.

  • National Scholarship test was conducted by T.I.M.E. institute for classes VI & VII on 7th February to keep a close observation on our students' talent and ability.
  • Our students were benefited by the De-worm awareness camp that was conducted on 13th February. They were administered with Albendazole tablets by the representative from the health centre.
