EVENTS OF THE YEAR

2014 – 15

  • TNPL Public School has completed three fruitful years of its journey since June 2011.
  • At the outset, the School reopened on 15th April for the academic year 2014-15. Weekly quiz program was introduced as a special feature in the assembly.
  • The most important blessing was the inauguration of our new school building held on 17th April. Ganapathi Homam was performed. A Formal Pooja and  Inaugural Function was conducted  Thiru.M.Subramaniam, , Chief General Manager, Production,  Vice President, TNPL School Society,  Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, GM (E&I), Secretary, TNPL School Society,   Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, AGM , (Quality control), Correspondent, TNPL Public School, Thiru.A.Sundaram, AGM, Finance, Treasurer, TNPL School Society,  School Committee members, guests, parents and teachers took part in the function.
  • Teacher Empowerment Session on the topic ‘Personality Development & Stress Management' was conducted on 6th June by Sister Neelima of Prajapita Bhrama kumaris Iswarya Viswa Vidhyalaya.
  • ‘CHECK YOUR ENGLISH’ was introduced in morning assembly proceedings on 16th June to enhance the vocabulary and pronunciation skills of the students.
  • K.Maathangi Devi of grade 6 participated in state level chess competition conducted by Mahendra Engineering College,Salem on 21st Jun and secured the 16th place.
  • The Hindu Students edition newspaper was started to be circulated in school from 23rd Jun.
  • New House system was introduced on 24th June. House names were announced as follows:  Red Clover, Blue Bonnet, Green Orchid and Yellow Jessamine (rare flowers at the international level).  The Office bearers were selected.
  • K.Hrithik Balaji of grade 4 and I.N.Akshay of grade 4 took part in the District level chess competition conducted by District Chess Association ,Karur on 29th jun and secured 8th and 9th places respectively.
  • Casual lunch break conversation in English was introduced on 30th June for Students of Grades I & II to enrich their confidence in spoken english.
  • Students of Grade III & IV were taken for a field trip on 8th July to TNPL Bio-Technology & Bio-Energy Centre based on environmental studies.
  • Investiture Ceremony for the academic year was conducted on 9th June to inculcate the role of leadership in our students –Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President,  TNPL School   Society, presided over the function in the presence of Thiru M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School. Thirumathi.V.Kavitha, Headmistress, TNPL Public School welcomed the guests. Master S.Gowtham , the head boy thanked the guests.
  • On the same day students of Grades V, VI & VII were taken for a field trip to TNPL Clonal Propagation Centre at Moolimangalam to enlighten their vision towards conservation of nature.
  • Student were engaged in Shraamdan on 19th July (an activity recommended by CBSE that involves campus cleaning, planting saplings & etc) to ensure that the students are equipped with social responsibilities. Our Correspondent planted some saplings in the school campus and initiated ‘Go-Green’ concept.
  • Book Fair was inaugurated on 21st July in the school campus to kindle the thirst of book reading among students and was conducted for 3 days.Students are to be appreciated in this regard for buying and donating book to the library through book fair.
  • Our students participated in the music competition conducted in Naradha Gana Sabha,Karur on 26th July by the Rotary Club,Karur .
  • Music and Dance Classes were introduced on 1st of August to incorporate the appreciation towards fine arts in the young minds.
  • News paper reading in the Lunch Break was introduced on 8th August to update our students' knowledge with current affairs.
  • Independence Day was celebrated at TNPL Stadium with aims at creating responsible citizens for the nation. ThiruM.Subramaniam, , Vice President, TNPL School Society,  Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary TNPL School Society,Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, Correspondent, TNPL Public School,  ThiruA.Sundaram, Treasurer, TNPL School Society,  School Committee members, guests, parents and teachers witnessed the function.
  • A movie Show 'KUTTI' was screened on 19th August for Students to create awareness towards child labour and child abuse.
  • Tamil Literary Association was inaugurated on 22nd August. Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided the function ,Thiru.A.Sundaram, Treasurer, TNPL School Society welcomed the gathering and  Thiru.M.Paramasivam, Executive Commitee member delivered the observation.Thiru. G.Vadhinadhan,HOD,Tamil Dept., PonVidyaMandir was the chief guest of the day. Programmes such as  kavidhai,katturai,tamilarpanpadu ,tamilkalaigal,naadagam were performed in a pleasant way during the week.
  • International Assessment for Indian Schools (IAIS) was conducted by UNSW Global (Australia) on 22nd and 23rd Aug which helped us to analyse the application skills of our little superstars.
  • English Literary Association was inaugurated on 1st September. Thiru.A.Sundaram  Treasurer, TNPL School Society presided the function, Thiru.R.Mohanasundaram, Prof, English Dept., Annai Women’s College honoured the day. Head Mistress Thirumathi.V.Kavitha delivered the observation.Programmes such as  Kids dance, speech,drama,riddles,gags and song were performed in a remarkable way during the week.
  • Thiru.V.M.Ayyappan joined as the new Principal of TNPLPS on 4th September. He was introduced by the correspondent in the school assembly.
  • Teacher’s day was celebrated in a fine manner. Students organised games for teachers and prizes were distributed.
  • Onam was celebrated on 12th September with lights,flower arrangement and cultural programmes.
  • Parent teacher meeting was conducted on 10th October after the completion of Semester 1 Assessment in the multipurpose hall.Thiru.M.Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School presided the gathering .There was an active participation from the parent's side.
  • On the same day, K.Manoj of Grade 6 participated in state level chess competition conducted by Karur Vilayattu Murasu and secured the 14th place and took part in state level chess competition conducted by AimChess Academy and bagged the third place.
  • Math Week was inaugurated on 13rd October by the Principal and Headmistress. Programmes like Model display, skit, number games, puzzles, dance about numbers, stress free management were performed during the week in a fabulous way.
  • The festival of lights -  Diwali was Celebrated on 18th October with cultural programmes and speech.
  • As every year, this year too we gave back to the society for various noble causes, activities as part of school social responsibility. The Prefectorial board visited Sidhartha Mudiyorillam at Chatram on 10th November , distributed food items and shared memorable memories with the old age people.
  • Rithik Kumar of grade 5 had taken part in district level chess tournament conducted by Aim chess Academy on 16 November and won the 5th place.
  • E.Surya of Grade 3 participated in the state level Karate competition conducted by Selvam Memorial Trophy, Salem on 22nd &23rd November and secured the 2nd place
  • Our Students participated in RHAPSODY 2014 organized by Paavai Vidhyashram in various competitions such as Singing, Dance, Painting, Collage and Eatomania and won the first prize in Karoake competition with a cash award of Rs.20000 for which the participants are as follows : M.Nikitha, N.Ameesha Fareen,P.Samhitha of grade 6,M.Subhiksha of grade 6 and R.Shruthikaa of grade 7 and S.Prashanthika of grade 7,A.P.Vinitha and T.Pavithra pushkalai of grade 6 bagged a cash prize of Rs.5000 for collage competition amidst heavy competition of 55 schools.
  • K.Manoj of Grade 6 took part in district level chess competition conducted by Karur Kannamal memorial sports club on 7th December and secured the 8th place.
  • Science & Computer Science Week was inaugurated on 8th December. Experiments, Model displays, Skits, Puzzles and Games were performed in a tremendous way.
  • Christmas was celebrated on 22nd December – A speech was given on the Birth of Infant Jesus, A Christmas Carol and A Dance was performed.
  • Annual Sports Day was conducted with high prospect on 24th December. Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President,  TNPL School   Society, presided over the function in the presence Thiru. M. Rathnasami, Correspondent, TNPL Public School.Various activities such as yoga,pyramid,drill, dance,and track events were performed and prizes were distributed.
  • M.Agshaya of grade 7 participated in the state level Tennis match conducted by Perks Tennis Academy,Kovai on 25th & 26th December and grabbed the 2nd place.
  • A session for teachers on the topic ‘Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation’ was arranged on 3rd January and it was conducted by Dr.Ramasubramanian, Senior Principal, Bharani group of Schools .
  • Extra curricular activities raise the child’s self esteem and involve them in diverse interests which lead to a long time commitment. So Chess , Karate and Keyboard classes are initiated as a good start from 6th January.
  • To boost the fine-motor skills development and cognitive exercise Handwriting course was introduced from 5th January.
  • Our students experienced a tough competition and stood at the 143rd place among 350 schools in the Hindu Young world quiz conducted in Sona Engineering College at Salem on 8th January organized by The Hindu Daily.
  • An exhibition is a high-stakes demonstration of mastery that occurs at a culminating academic moment.Annual Exhibition was conducted on 9th January – Students displayed various working and static models pertaining to different subjects. ThiruM.Subramaniam, , Vice President, TNPL School Society,Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, TNPL School Society,   Thiru.M.Rathinasamy, Correspondent, TNPL Public School inaugurated and presided the exhibition. Parents and others visited the exhibition.Thiru.S.Balasubramaniam and Thirumathi.BavaniBai Of Gandhiar Middle school Karur witnessed the programme and judged the models.
  • R.Kamali of grade 6 took part in state level Karate competition conducted by Maharaja College ,Erode on 10th January and bagged the3rd place.
  • Pongal festival was celebrated in a traditional way with religious ethics on 12th January.
  • K.Hrithik Balaji of grade 4 participated in the district level chess competition conducted by district chess association and secured the 9th place and E.Surya of grade 3 took part in state level chess conducted by Navodaya Academy,Namakkal on 16th January and secured the 5th place.
  • S.Ramatithya and R.Sudarsan of grade 6 participated in the district level Team karate and won the 3rd place and S.Shanmaya of grade 4 took part in the district level karate competition conducted on 22nd January and bagged the 2nd place.
  • Republic Day was celebrated in TNPL Stadium.  Thiru. A.Sundaram, Treasurer, TNPL School   Society was the chief guest. Thiru. M.Subramanian, Vice President, TNPL School   Society,  Thiru.A.Balasubramanian, Secretary, TNPL School Society and  Thiru. M. Rathnasami,  Correspondent, TNPL Public School, presided over the function.
  • Chief Educational Officer Thirumathi.R.Thiruvalarselvi, Karur District inspected the school on 29th January pertaining to NOC and recognition from the Government of Tamilnadu and we received a very positive feedback from her.
  • M.Subhiksha,K.Maathangi Devi of grade 6 and M.Maanasha of grade 5 from our school represented the first three positions of the Hindu handwriting competition held in Kaveri College, Trichy on 2 Feb conducted by the Hindu Daily.
  • E.Surya of grade 3 participated in the district level chess competition conducted by Aim chess Academy and secured the 8th place.

  • Our School received NOC and recognition from Tamilnadu Government on 3rd February.
  • National Scholarship test was conducted by T.I.M.E. institute for classes VI & VII on 7th February to keep a close observation on our students' talent and ability.
  • Our students were benefited by the De-worm awareness camp that was conducted on 13th February. They were administered with Albendazole tablets by the representative from the health centre.
